The Kimball Knights were the 60-57 winner over the DeSoto Eagles when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. Kimball took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of DeSoto on Friday. While losing is never fun, Kimball can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while DeSoto is ranked 121st).

Despite the loss, Kimball saw an underclassman step up: Marri Wickware scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was Wickware's third in a row with at least ten points. Tra'vion Rhinehart was another key contributor, scoring four points.

Kimball now has a losing record at 9-10. As for DeSoto, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kimball and White will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
