Volleyball Recap: Montrose Takes a Loss

After flying high against Elk Lake on Tuesday, Montrose came back down to earth. The Meteors came up short against the Blue Ridge Raiders on Thursday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Meteors of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Montrose couldn't get the W, but boy did they fight for it: two sets took extra rallies. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 26-24, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Montrose saw an underclassman step up: sophomore MALEAH GALELLA had 16 digs and two aces. GALELLA has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Montrose's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Blue Ridge, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Coming up, Montrose will venture away from home to challenge Forest City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Blue Ridge, after both having extra time off, they and Abington Heights will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
