Basketball Recap: Mason Picks Up 16th Straight Win on the Road

Mason waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Lakota East Thunderhawks with a sharp 59-39 win. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mason to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Habra, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Habra is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Madison Parrish was another key player, going 9 of 20 on her way to 22 points.

Mason's victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1. As for Lakota East, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 12-6 record.

Mason and Lakota East should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Mason (ranked eighth) will meet Middletown (ranked 373rd) at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Mason is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season. Similarly, Lakota East will square off against Fairfield at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday up 332 places (61 vs. 393).
