Recap: Spring Grove Lions vs. Kingsland Knights
In what's become a running theme this season, the Spring Grove Lions gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Kingsland 60-40. Winning may never get old, but Spring Grove sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Kingsland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Brink. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Brink posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Max Erdman, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Spring Grove's victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.4 points. As for Kingsland, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring Grove and Lanesboro will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lanesboro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Spring Grove is ranked 63rd). As for Kingsland, they will head out on the road to take on Schaeffer Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
