Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Alexandria's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Alexandria barely beat Oakdale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Trojans needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Alexandria is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oakdale, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-13.

Looking ahead, Alexandria will be playing at home against Neville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.78 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oakdale, they will head out on the road to challenge Vermilion Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
