Baseball Recap: Rocky Mount Comes Up Short

Rocky Mount was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the Southern Nash Firebirds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Firebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Wednesday.

Logan Hypes was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Rocky Mount's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Southern Nash, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Rocky Mount will head out on the road to challenge Northern Nash at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gryphons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Southern Nash, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Franklinton at 6:30 p.m.
