Softball Game Preview: Maywood Academy Nighthawks vs. Bell Eagles

Maywood Academy is 0-5 against Bell since March of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Maywood Academy Nighthawks will take on the Bell Eagles at 2:15 p.m. Maywood Academy has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Maywood Academy fell victim to Northridge Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 17-0 to the Pumas. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Nighthawks were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Bell also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Marquez on Monday, falling 16-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Gladiators recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Maywood Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Maywood Academy might still be hurting after the 22-4 loss they got from Bell in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Maywood Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
