Baseball Recap: Oviedo Takes a Loss

Oviedo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Seminole Seminoles, falling 10-4. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seminoles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Dalton Hitt was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

At the plate, Sebastian Galeano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Benjamin Lau also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Oviedo's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Seminole, their record is now 4-17.

Oviedo has already played their next matchup, a 12-6 loss against Bishop Moore on the 2nd. Hopefully Seminole payed attention to the Lions' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
