Basketball Recap: Brilliant Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Brilliant extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-2. They took a blow against the Tremont Eagles, falling 57-29. The Tigers were down 44-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

As for Tremont, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Tremont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nathan Crenshaw, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight assists and five steals. With that strong performance, Crenshaw is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Cooper Platt, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brilliant will square off against Winston County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tremont, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cherokee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
