The Bishop Stang Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Durfee Hilltoppers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Stang is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Bishop Stang came out on top against Bishop Fenwick on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Spartans walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Crusaders. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Landon Cardoza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bishop Stang's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Matt Burt, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Burt has posted since back in April. Travis Henriques also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Durfee came up short against Middleborough on Saturday and fell 6-1. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Durfee's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Bishop Stang, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
