Volleyball Recap: Frankfort Takes a Loss

Frankfort lost against Benton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Redbirds took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rangers. The Redbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Frankfort was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Makayla Joyner and Evyn Lemmon, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Reese James and her 13 assists. Emma Ridgeway controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Frankfort's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Benton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Frankfort will head out to take on Vienna at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Benton, they will head out on the road to square off against Pinckneyville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
