Baseball Recap: Great Falls Has No Trouble Against York Prep

After only one run in their last match, Great Falls made sure to put some runs up on the board against York Prep on Wednesday. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Patriots. Considering the Red Devils have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Colton Evans was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Plyler, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Great Falls moved to 9-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for York Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Great Falls will host Midlands STEM Charter at 5:30 p.m. on the 11th. As for York Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge Cheraw at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
