Soccer Recap: Anthem Prep Comes Up Short

Anthem Prep was the 2-1 winner over Phoenix Christian when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Anthem Prep Eagles lost 6-1 to the Phoenix Christian Cougars on Friday.

Anthem Prep's goal came courtesy of Gabriel Contreras, who's now up to two this season.

Anthem Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Phoenix Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1.

Anthem Prep will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wickenburg at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st. Phoenix Christian has already played their next game, a 5-0 win against Heritage Academy on the 15th.
