Clinton not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 18, 2024 (when they won 11-0). They blew past the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils 7-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Looking ahead, Clinton will welcome Frankfort-Schuyler at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets will need to watch out since the Maroon Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will be paying especially close attention to Clinton's contest: after Clinton faces off against Frankfort-Schuyler, they'll take on Vernon-Verona-Sherrill again at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
