Softball Recap: Long Branch Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Long Branch had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Neptune Scarlet Fliers, falling 17-6. The Green Wave have struggled against the Scarlet Fliers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Neptune's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long Branch will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Neptune, they will face off against Rumson-Fair Haven at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
