Softball Recap: Southern Lehigh Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Southern Lehigh posted their closest win since March 14th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Palisades Pirates 6-4. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 5-0 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Delaney Young spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isabella Germani, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Southern Lehigh's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for Palisades, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Coming up, Southern Lehigh will host Jim Thorpe at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Palisades, they will square off against Catasauqua at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pirates are facing the Rough Riders at the right time seeing as the Rough Riders are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
