Basketball Recap: Mount Desert Island Falls Short Against Ranked Old Town

On Tuesday, Mount Desert Island faced Old Town in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Mount Desert Island Trojans fell 40-33 to the Old Town Coyotes. The Trojans have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Mount Desert Island's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Old Town, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Desert Island will venture away from home to face off against Washington Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Old Town, they will face off against Presque Isle at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
