Volleyball Recap: McKinney North Bulldogs vs. Reedy Lions
McKinney North had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Reedy Lions 3-0 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
McKinney North walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21, 25-18.
Allyn Brewer paced McKinney North's offense, picking up 13 kills. Brewer got some help from
Malia Mcneal and her 21 assists. Finally,
Chloe Lewis kept McKinney North's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.
Reedy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Riya Nutakki, who had eight digs and 15 assists, and Gabriella Vallejos, who had eight digs. Nutakki is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in the last four games she's played.
McKinney North is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-11 record this season. As for Reedy, they moved to 18-20 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
McKinney North is on the road again on Tuesday to play Aledo at 4:00 p.m. Aledo will roll in looking for their 25th straight win, something McKinney North surely won't give up without a fight. Reedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
