Basketball Recap: Wallace Takes a Loss

After flying high against Clark Fork last Friday, Wallace came back down to earth. The Wallace Miners took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Genesis Prep Academy Jaguars on Monday. The Miners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaguars earlier this season, when they won 48-46.

Despite the loss, Wallace still got an impressive performance from Julian Davis, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. The contest was Davis' eighth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Guardipee, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Wallace smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

Wallace's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Genesis Prep Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.

Wallace has already played their next game, a 59-55 victory against Clark Fork on the 19th. As for Genesis Prep Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 81-66 loss against Lakeside on the 19th.
