Basketball Game Preview: Abbeville Christian Academy Generals vs. Springwood Wildcats + How To Watch

Two dominant guards in Amari George and Tori Patillo are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Abbeville Christian Academy Generals and the Springwood Wildcats will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

While Abbeville Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Wiregrass with a sharp 49-29 win on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Generals have posted against the Kings since January 24, 2019.

Meanwhile, Springwood came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 60-18 win over the Chiefs. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Chiefs are ranked 209th).

Springwood found their leader in sophomore AC Jackson, who went 9-for-20 en route to 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Vega Monsalve, who posted four points and eight assists.

Springwood's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Abbeville Christian Academy lost to Springwood at home by a decisive 67-51 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can the Generals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
