Volleyball Recap: Brunswick Takes a Loss

Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Messalonskee Eagles, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-5, 25-14.

Messalonskee was led to victory by Maggie Hickey and Alanna Voter. Hickey had eight aces and eight assists, while Voter had ten digs and three aces. Those eight aces gave Hickey a new career-high.

Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Messalonskee, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-5.

Brunswick didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Brewer on the 30th. As for Messalonskee, after both having extra time off, they and Mt. Ararat will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
