Basketball Recap: Downey Gets the Win

If Modesto wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Downey, they should've done a better job of containing Solomon Paris. The Downey Knights took down the Modesto Panthers 49-33 on Monday thanks to Paris, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. He also grabbed four steals, which is notable because Downey is 2-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 2-20 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Andrew Miller, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave him a new career-high.

Downey's victory bumped their record up to 4-21. As for Modesto, they dropped their record down to 2-23 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Downey has already played their next matchup, a 64-41 loss against Enochs on the 12th. As for Modesto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 85-42 defeat against Turlock on the 12th.
