After flying high against South Hills last Friday, West Covina came back down to earth. The Bulldogs took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rancho Bernardo Broncos on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Broncos are ranked 131st).

When it comes to explaining why West Covina lost, don't look at Isaac Villescas. Despite the final result, he rushed for 117 yards and one score on only 15 carries, and also threw for 159 yards and one TD.

The Bulldogs will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.8 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Rancho Bernardo, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against San Diego at 7:15 p.m. The Cavers' defense has only allowed three points per game this season, so the Broncos' offense will have their work cut out for them.
