            Baseball Preview: Washington Hatchets vs. Gibson Southern Titans        
        
		
        
        
            The Washington Hatchets will face off against the Gibson Southern Titans at 8:30  p.m.  on Friday. Washington is coming into the  contest on  a  five-game losing streak.
Things were looking good for Washington after they put the first  run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took  an  8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Daviess.
  Brody Clark was cooking despite his team's loss,   going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  RBI.  John Chapman was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Gibson Southern entered their  game against Castle  on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Titans fell  5-2 to the Knights.
Gibson Southern also got a good showing from  Kolton Schmitt, who   struck out six batters over  3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and only one walk). Schmitt has been consistent for a while: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run any time he's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side,  Grant Stinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  run and one  RBI.
 Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Gibson Southern, the  loss was their first  at home , dropping their record down to 21-7.
 Washington suffered a grim  10-0 defeat to Gibson Southern  when the teams last played  on Tuesday. Can the Hatchets avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
