Rudy Rios' Big Game Leads Centennial over Hobbs

Rudy Rios was instrumental in extending Centennial's winning streak to seven on Friday. Nobody could stop Rios as he rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also caught a touchdown.

Centennial's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Rios will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Organ Mountain on Friday.

Kason Perez Dazzles in Carlsbad Win

Carlsbad found a leader in Kason Perez as the squad took down Alamogordo on Friday. Perez did his part (and then some), throwing for 265 yards and three touchdowns for the 'W'.

The win got Carlsbad back to even at 4-4. Perez and Carlsbad will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Las Cruces at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

Jordan Lucas Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, Centennial got the W thanks in part to Jordan Lucas playing the best football he has all season. Lucas rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 54 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.

On the year, Lucas has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 62.7 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 34 receiving yards per game.

Davis Posts Huge Game in 51-12 Victory

Zaiden Davis's big game helped extend Centennial's winning streak to seven on Friday. Hobbs had no answer to Davis as he rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.

On the season, Davis has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 112.7 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had 11 rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 19.

Dylan Hergenreder Goes Supernova in Alamogordo Defeat

Rounding off our Top Five is Dylan Hergenreder of Alamogordo. Hergenreder rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 38 receiving yards.

Alamogordo is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. Hergenreder and Alamogordo will venture away from home to square off against Las Cruces at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
