Softball Game Preview: Raleigh Lions vs. Stringer Red Devils

The Raleigh Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Stringer Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Raleigh is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Raleigh needed a bit of extra time to put away Seminary. They skirted past the Bulldogs 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

The team relied heavily on Haylee Buffington, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. SC McAllister was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Raleigh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Stringer won against Richton on Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Red Devils blew past the Rebels 12-0. Considering the Red Devils have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Raleigh's record now sits at 12-16. As for Stringer, their record is now 13-5-1.

Raleigh was able to grind out a solid victory over Stringer in their previous matchup back in February, winning 11-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
