Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Northridge Grizzlies

Mountain View is 2-8 against Northridge since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mountain View Mountain Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Northridge Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Mountain View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.

Last Saturday, Mountain View didn't have too much trouble with Loveland at home as they won 69-51. Mountain View pushed the score to 53-31 by the end of the third, a deficit Loveland cut but never quite recovered from.

Addison Branscum was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Meghan Keil, who scored eight points.

Meanwhile, Northridge strolled past Skyline with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 53-37. Given Northridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Skyline is ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Mountain View and bumps their season record up to 13-7. As for Northridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Mountain View didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Northridge in their previous matchup last Thursday, but they still walked away with a 68-64 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Northridge's Sophia Carbajal, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 19 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Mountain View still be able to contain Carbajal? There's only one way to find out.
