Basketball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Horse Creek Academy Stallions and fell 76-35. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stallions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Gilbert's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Horse Creek Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert will welcome Cardinal Newman at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Horse Creek Academy, they will host Silver Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Stallions will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 65 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
