Basketball Game Preview: Shawnee Redskins vs. Trico Pioneers

Shawnee hasn't had much luck against Trico recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Shawnee Redskins will square off against the Trico Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shawnee has three straight wins, Trico has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Shawnee is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Cobden: they outscored them in every quarter. Shawnee strolled past Cobden with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-24.

Shawnee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Young out in front who posted 19 points and three steals. Young has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Eva Ford was another key player, putting up two points in addition to 11 boards, seven steals, and six assists.

Meanwhile, Trico didn't have quite enough to beat Chester on Tuesday and fell 37-34.

Trico's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Shawnee, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.

Shawnee took a serious blow against Trico in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 64-29. Can Shawnee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
