Baseball Game Preview: Rocky River Pirates vs. Elyria Pioneers

Rocky River is 0-3 against Elyria since May of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Pirates will host the Pioneers at 12:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Rocky River fell victim to Lakewood and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rangers. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Elyria fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Midview on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Middies by a score of 3-2. The Pioneers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Elyria's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14-1. As for Rocky River, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
