Volleyball Recap: Ocala Christian Takes a Loss

Ocala Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Peniel Baptist Academy Warriors. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Ocala Christian took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-18.

Peniel Baptist Academy was led to victory by Kylie Jacobs and Shanley Jenkins. Jacobs had 16 digs and five aces, while Jenkins had 12 digs and nine kills. Jenkins is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Allie Peacock, who had five digs and one block.

Ocala Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-10.

Coming up, Peniel Baptist Academy will challenge Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ocala Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' matchup: after the Warriors face off against Crescent City, they'll take on Ocala Christian again at 6:00 p.m. on October 9.
