Softball Recap: Blackman Takes a Loss

If Blackman was feeling good fresh off their 19-0 takedown of Centennial last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Blackman fell just short of the Central Wildcats by a score of 11-10 on Monday.

Blackman got a big performance out of Sophia Sullivan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Wyatt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Blackman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. This was only their first loss (out of four games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Blackman now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blackman will square off against Oakland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oakland will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Blackman surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central, they will host Russellville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
