Softball Recap: Livingston's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

Livingston dropped their record down to 18-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They fell 4-1 to the Le Grand Bulldogs. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 12-11 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Le Grand, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Le Grand's part, Ava Avila made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Avila has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Crystal Manzo, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Elisa Angel, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Livingston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Le Grand, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-2 defeat against Chowchilla on the 7th.
