Preview: Humphreys County Cowboys vs. Mooreville Troopers
Humphreys County has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Mooreville Troopers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Humphreys County walked away with it. They really took it to Belmont for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-0 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Humphreys County, who have now won five games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Ollizous Brent had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Brent really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Another player making a difference was Desean Cooperwood, who rushed for 21 yards and a touchdown.
Independence typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Mooreville proved too difficult a challenge. Mooreville slipped by Independence 13-12. That's two games straight that Mooreville has won by exactly a single point.

Humphreys County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Mooreville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
