After each having a week off, the Lincoln Tigers and the Kimball Knights will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Lincoln barely beat Pinkston the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 34-13 margin over the Vikings last Friday. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmanuel Holmes, who threw for 208 yards and four TDs on only 18 passes. A healthy portion of Holmes' aerial production (144 yards to be exact) went to Okeith Robinson, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
Lincoln was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 209 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 198 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Lincoln's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Dominic Johnson was the leader with two sacks. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Pinkston's side was Jarmon Trotter Jr, who forced one fumble and made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Kimball blew past Roosevelt, posting a 42-6 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Mustangs are ranked 1065th).
Kimball's win came from a few key players Lincoln will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Charles McCuin, who rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Javion Broussard, who picked up 193 receiving yards and one score.
Kimball didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Demario Harris and Sean Robinson.
The victory made it two in a row for Kimball and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Lincoln, their record now sits at 4-0.
Lincoln was taken down by Kimball 42-9 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
