Baseball Game Preview: Schlarman Hilltoppers vs. Westville Tigers

The Schlarman Hilltoppers will challenge the Westville Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Schlarman is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Schlarman came up short against Hoopeston on Friday, falling 8-2. That's two games in a row now that the Hilltoppers have lost by exactly six runs.

Schlarman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Billings, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Salt Fork on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Westville is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Schlarman, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
