With a playoff win on the line, John Carroll Catholic rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Montverde Academy Eagles, sneaking past 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Rodrigo Morales looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zachary Stern, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

John Carroll Catholic's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Montverde Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-11.

Looking ahead, John Carroll Catholic will face off against The First Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.2, the Royals 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Montverde Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
