Basketball Recap: Montverde Academy Makes It 13 in a Row at Home

Montverde Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Southeastern Prep Academy on Monday. The Montverde Academy Eagles blew past the Southeastern Prep Academy Falcons 81-39. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 30 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montverde Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hakeem Weems, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Ingram, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

Montverde Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Montverde Academy's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.7 points per game. As for Southeastern Prep Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
