Softball Recap: Baldwin Bulldogs vs. Santa Fe Trail Chargers
Baldwin extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-4 in the process. They fell 6-2 to the Santa Fe Trail Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 on Tuesday.
As for Santa Fe Trail, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games.
For Santa Fe Trail's part, Sydnee Sleichter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Sleichter has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Camee Whitaker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Ganger, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The Chargers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
