George Washington had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Thomas Jefferson Spartans with a sharp 55-34 victory. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Spartans are ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anisa Adrovic, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points. Leila Olbricht-Simon was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

George Washington pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Thomas Jefferson, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-11.

George Washington is taking a road trip to challenge Hinkley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Regis Groff at 6:30 p.m.
