Basketball Game Preview: Garland Christian Academy Swordsmen vs. First Baptist Saints

The Garland Christian Academy Swordsmen are taking a road trip to face off against the First Baptist Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Garland Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Cambridge as they won 69-55.

Meanwhile, First Baptist came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Hawks for the full four quarters, racking up an 87-28 victory. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

First Baptist has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for Garland Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Garland Christian Academy suffered a grim 80-60 defeat to First Baptist when the teams last played on January 14th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of First Baptist's Dylan Jones, who went 11 for 21 from beyond the arc on his way to 35 points and six boards.
