Softball Game Preview: Exeter Township Eagles vs. Governor Mifflin Mustangs

Exeter Township is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will welcome the Governor Mifflin Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses apiece.

Exeter Township came up short against Owen J. Roberts on Saturday, falling 12-2.

Exeter Township saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryen Turner, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That hit was Turner's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Governor Mifflin lost 16-5 to Mechanicsburg on Friday.

Abby Brunelli made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Raeya Hoover, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Governor Mifflin's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Exeter Township, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything went Exeter Township's way against Governor Mifflin in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Exeter Township made off with a 20-9 win. Will Exeter Township repeat their success, or does Governor Mifflin has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
