Soccer Game Preview: Stevenson vs. La Center

Stevenson hasn't had much luck against La Center recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Stevenson has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 17 goals over their last three matches.

If Stevenson beats La Center with four goals on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Bulldogs came out on top against Onalaska by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. That's two games straight that Stevenson have won by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, La Center hadn't done well against King's Way Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Knights 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given La Center's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while King's Way Christian are ranked 27th).

The win was the third in a row for La Center, bringing their record up to 9-4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three contests. As for Stevenson, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7-1.

Stevenson might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from La Center in their previous meeting on April 8th. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
