Volleyball Recap: Laguna Beach Takes a Loss

Laguna Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Northwood Timberwolves, falling 3-0. The Breakers were not able to make up for their loss to the Timberwolves from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Laguna Beach was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 25-21.

Kai Patchell paced Laguna Beach's offense, picking up 17 kills. Patchell got some help from Ben Goodwin and his 26 assists.

Laguna Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Northwood, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laguna Beach will welcome Aliso Niguel at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwood, they will host St. Margaret's at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Margaret's will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Northwood surely won't give up without a fight.
