Volleyball Recap: North Star Huskies vs. Rimrock Raiders
North Star lost against Rimrock back in October of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The North Star Huskies fell just short of the Rimrock Raiders by a score of 3-2.
North Star took Rimrock into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-17, 15-25, 25-19, 15-12.
Despite the loss, North Star still got an impressive performance from Grace Escobar, who had four aces and 33 assists. Escobar is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Even though they lost, North Star was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 27 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're ace total in four consecutive matches.
North Star dropped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rimrock, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.
North Star will challenge Riverstone International at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. After both having extra time off, Rimrock and Marsing will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marsing will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Rimrock surely won't give up without a fight.
