Football Recap: Chadron Cardinals vs. Lincoln Christian Crusaders
Chadron had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Lincoln Christian Crusaders with a sharp 42-18 win on Friday. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Quinn Bailey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 311 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 17th straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Chadron was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 326 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln Christian only rushed for 186.
Despite the loss, Lincoln Christian still got an impressive performance from Truman Paulsen, who threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 43 yards.
Chadron's record now sits at 8-2. As for Lincoln Christian, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Chadron will face off against Sidney at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sidney will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Chadron surely won't give up without a fight. Lincoln Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
