Basketball Recap: Spring Lake Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Spring Lake won the last time they faced Fruitport and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Spring Lake Lakers walked away with a 36-28 victory over the Fruitport Trojans. Given the Lakers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Trojans are ranked 527th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Spring Lake is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Fruitport's loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

Spring Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-29 win against Montague on the 7th. Fruitport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
