Baseball Recap: Archbishop Ryan Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Archbishop Ryan's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the St. Joseph's Prep Hawks. The Raiders and Ragdolls have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.

Dave Perez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Sean Cahill looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Archbishop Ryan: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise.

Perez wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Flash Krzywicki, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Archbishop Ryan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for St. Joseph's Prep, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Archbishop Ryan will face off against rival Archbishop Carroll at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph's Prep is set to take on their familiar foe Conwell-Egan Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
