Softball Recap: Maryvale Prep's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Maryvale Prep had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the San Pasqual Valley Warriors on Tuesday as they made off with a 32-10 win. The Matador might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 12 runs or more this season.

Maryvale Prep got a massive performance out of Sophia Lopez, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Heidmann, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Maryvale Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .889. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Maryvale Prep's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for San Pasqual Valley, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Looking ahead, Maryvale Prep will challenge Antelope at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Matador will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for San Pasqual Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Somerton at 3:45 p.m.
