It's playoff time, and Sheldon had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Pleasant Grove Eagles 8-6. This was a revenge game for the Huskies: when they faced off against the Eagles two weeks ago, they had to take a 8-5 defeat.

Micah Kennedy made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off eight hits. Kennedy was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Chapman, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Miyani Marshall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Sheldon and bumps their season record up to 19-9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Pleasant Grove, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-6.

Coming up, Sheldon will face off against Del Oro at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. Pleasant Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
